CHRISTINA HIRUKAWA

Christina Sumie Hirukawa has more than 15 years of professional experience in the Arts, including working in auction houses, galleries and museums. Christina has an academic background in Art History and Design. She holds a Masters degree in the History Art and Design from the University of Glasgow, as well as a Bachelors of Fine Art from Concordia University (Montreal). She is an accredited art appraiser, completing her apprenticeship in the United Kingdom in 2010.
An active collector, Christina is immersed in the emerging and philanthropic aspects of the arts community. She has served on a number of judiciary panels for community and public art commissions, and has presented at universities in Canada and the UK on collecting practices.
She is a founding partner of Expanded Field Arts, that focuses on public art commissions in Canada.
